Concept
For the first time in Hungary! The Géza Gárdonyi Theatre and a Serb, Czech and French theatre travels around in 4 European cities with a colourful festival in two years. The first 2 steps of the Quartet-Festival, supported by the EU, had a big success in Novi Sad (Serbia) in the autumn 2008, and in Cheb (Czech Republic) in the spring 2009. Quartet arrives endly in Heves County and Eger between 5-31. October 2009!

5-31. October 2009.
Quartet presents 4 cultures in their complexity. French wine, czech beer, serbian zachusca, Prague jazz, French sanson and balkan folk music, exhibitions, films, contemporary European literature – all this can be yours for a month in Heves, Hatvan and Eger! And 4 excellent theatre performances, 4 visions of today’s Europe.
The festival is divided in „2 acts”:
1. Act: Exhibitions, films, theatre performances, concerts, literature, gastronomy.
- Heves (5-8. October)
- Hatvan (12-16. October)
- Eger (19-26. October)
2. Act: The main program of the Quartet-festival with the introduction of the 4 partner theatres. We continue of course the colourful presentation of the cultures during the second act, too: each day of each performance will be the national day of the given country, with exhibition, music, public reading and gastronomy. We enrich the festival with the best studio performances of the Gárdonyi Géza Theatre.
